Michigan Stadium, a landmark at the University of Michigan, partnered with EIPC (Empathy in Point Clouds) to create a detailed digital twin of key areas within the stadium. The project involved scanning the Donor and Alumni Suites to provide a virtual experience for potential clients, allowing them to explore the suites and their views of the field without visiting in person. This digital model is designed to support marketing, contract renewals, and suite sales.
In addition to the suites, EIPC scanned the Home Team Locker Room, the Tunnel, and the Field to capture the atmosphere and scale of these iconic spaces. These areas are now available for virtual exploration, preserving their unique qualities for future use.
The digital twin also offers an opportunity for NIL (Name, Image, and Likeness) marketing, allowing student-athletes and Michigan Athletics to engage with fans and potential sponsors in innovative ways.
As part of an ongoing effort, EIPC will continue scanning additional areas of the stadium, gradually creating a comprehensive 3D model of the entire Michigan Stadium complex for both historical preservation and future use.
